Rolled Maize
Rolled Maize
- DM:89.0%
- Protein: 9.5%
- Fibre: 3.5%
- Oil: 2.5%
- Ash: 1.0%
The product is high in starch with high energy levels. It has been reported to be high in rumen resistant starch and to be ideal to enhance milk protein levels. Approximately 30% of the starch is unfermented in the rumen. Useful in high starch diets to reduce the risk of acidosis. Useful in all grass silage diets as a source of slow starch and increased bypass starch.
The difference between Rolled and Ground Maize, is the physical sample, Rolled makes it’s a more ‘rumen friendly’ product, as to the ground maize, which can be as fine as flour once ground.

Disclaimer
Feeding rates are estimates, and other factors, such as animal health and environment, can have a greater impact on how animals perform. There is no guarantee that animals will perform as expected if fed the suggested rates. Rations should be balanced to provide enough energy and protein for animals, and they should include enough forage to keep the rumen healthy. Animals also need access to fresh water at all times.
