Megafat
Megafat
Megafat - a high-C16:0 product targeted to increase milk fat %, milk production and fertility.
Megafat is a rumen protected C16:0 fatty acid product in calcium salt form. It is manufactured using the world-proven Megalac processing technology under European feed safety regulations and quality standards. The manufacture of calcium salts of C16:0 fatty acids helps protect the fatty acids from break down in the rumen, ensuring there is no effect on rumen function whilst maintaining a highly digestibility product.

Limits to Usage
Megafat can be incorporated into total mixed rations, home mixes, blends and compounds. When incorporating Megafat into the ration, increase the level gradually over a few days to allow the animal to acclimatise to the new ingredient. The recommended feeding level of Megafat is up to 500g per head per day post calving. For dry cows, introduce gradually over the last 3 weeks before calving, making sure to maintain the correct mineral balance, allowing for Megafat’s 6% calcium content.

Disclaimer
Feeding rates are estimates, and other factors, such as animal health and environment, can have a greater impact on how animals perform. There is no guarantee that animals will perform as expected if fed the suggested rates. Rations should be balanced to provide enough energy and protein for animals, and they should include enough forage to keep the rumen healthy. Animals also need access to fresh water at all times.
