Example Blends
In order to help you and to give you a rough idea of two simple blends that may typically be used on farm, we have formulated a couple of examples (shown below).
We are looking to supplement the base mix of silage(s) to give Maintenance + 26 litres.
Example A
47kg average quality Grass silage (25% Dry Matter, 11 ME, 14% Crude Protein).
Emphasis in the blend is on energy sources with lower levels of Soya and Rape.

Example B

This blend places the emphasis on protein including some rumen degradable protein (eg Rape Meal) with less emphasis on starch levels.
