The ‘jewels’ in our crown are the numerous customised blends we produce for individual customers various needs. We have well over 100 of these blends on file covering all protein and energy levels for calves, heifers, beef animals, dairy cows and sheep. They are produced in a coarse blend form with accurate computerised weighing of all materials, which are then mixed thoroughly in the mixer before being held in bulk bins. Whether you take tipped or blown loads, whether its 5 tonnes or 27 tonnes, whether you want minerals added or not, whether you want molasses included or not and whether you want to pay direct debit terms or normal terms we have the right blend for you. Can your current supplier guarantee that in writing? As raw material prices rise we have no doubt that some manufacturers substitute cheaper ingredients to maintain the price. If you want a consistent product with no raw material changes you must get a guarantee from your supplier. GP Feeds feel that this should be normal practice in fairness to our customers. As you consider the variations between farms in terms of cow yields, type of forage, amount of forage, forage quality, home grown cereals available, parlour cakes to be fed etc you can see that one type of blend does not fit all situations.

Getting the blend right will improve performance in terms of yields, quality and cow health. A properly balanced blend can be worth up to 5 litres per cow using the same quality of inputs.

Does your blend:

• Have a range of carbohydrate sources linked to forage type?
• Provide a blend of proteins to match to the carbohydrate sources without the use of excessive protein?
• Be part of a whole diet that reduces the risk of acidosis and aids rumen function?
• Meet current ration standards for high yielding cows?
• Stimulate dry matter intakes up to 4% of body weight?
• Produce high yields whilst still maintaining milk from forage meeting the criteria of maximum margin at least cost?

BULK BIN DEAL
