Lactofeed 70

Lactofeed 70

Lactofeed 70 is composed of whey permeate and Hipro Soya bean meal. It is a free flowing easy to handle source of lactose ideal for feeding to ruminants. It supplies a readily fermentable energy source for use by the rumen microbes, with the advantage of a slower more controlled fermentation than other traditional energy sources, such as wheat, barley and molasses.

Research has shown that lactose can improve the utilisation efficiency of rapidly fermented nitrogen in the rumen, thereby lowering rumen ammonia levels and improving the flow of nitrogen and other fermentation products to the lower gut. Lactofeed is also suitable for dry cow diets as it encourages the growth of rumen papillae, which increases the surface area for absorption of nutrients for use during lactation. It helps condition the rumen during the dry period so that yield and persistency will be maximised.
